Hans Meiring
Chief Executive Officer, Oman Cables Industry

Oman Cables Industry has announced the elevation of Hans Meiring to the position of chief executive officer.

In his new position he will report to Hussain Salman, vice chairman and managing director of the company. Salman said Meiring has shown exceptional leadership in building sustainability into the company.

He has contributed extensively in enhancing operational efficiencies, made technological improvements, successfully set up a joint venture to manufacture aluminium rods and overhead line conductors, expanded operations to further OCI’s global reach. Commenting on his promotion, Meiring said “Oman Cables is a dynamic and successful company with a great future. The founder Mustafa Mukhtar Ali al Lawati, chairman of the company, has inspired us to achieve more than anyone thought possible in the region, and I am truly honoured to follow in his footsteps.”


Mohann Khanna
Chief Marketing Officer, Muscat Finance

 Muscat Finance Company (MFC) has appointed Mohann Khanna as chief marketing officer.

A post graduate in marketing and finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, Khanna is also an engineering graduate (BE) from the Delhi College of Engineering.

He has more than 22 years of experience in financial services including various senior leadership assignments across diverse businesses covering all areas of operations.

His last assignment was as vice president and business head with a global leader in banking and financial services. Prior to that he was the CEO of a finance company in India. As chief marketing officer of MFC he is entrusted with business head responsibility for all businesses including retail assets, corporate finance, working capital finance and factoring, and customer care/CRM.

Dost Mohammad Dost al Balushi

Assistant general manager – operational services, National Bank of Oman
National Bank of Oman (NBO) has promoted Dost Mohammad Dost al Balushi as assistant general manager – operational services, reporting to the general manager and chief operating officer.

Al Balushi joined NBO in October 2000 and has been employed in various senior roles and capacities during his career. His last assignment within NBO was as the head of the lean project, responsible for transformation of products and services offered by the bank.

He holds a diploma in financial and cost accounting from Abington College, Oxford, UK and possesses over 26 years of professional experience, having worked with NBO, Ministry of Defence and Commercial Bank of Oman. Murray Sims, CEO, NBO, said, “This promotion further demonstrates the bank’s continuing commitment to develop our people, give them more responsibility and recognise their performance.”



Olga Kubrak
Sales & PR manager, The Chedi Muscat

The Chedi Muscat has announced a new addition to the sales team of the hotel, Olga Kubrak, as the sales & PR manager. Holding a Bachelors of Arts Degree (Hons) in Business Administration, from the University of Westminster with over five years of experience in the sales and marketing field, Olga is very enthusiastic to complement the current sales team of Chedi Muscat.

Primarily responsible for promoting the sales leads of The Chedi Muscat, she also strives to maintain a high level of exposure in all local and international media channels through sales solicitations, telemarketing and written communications. Having gained experience in the sultanate and abroad, Olga is eager to meet the challenges of changing market conditions in the hotel industry.

Attentively contributing to the growth, business and recognition of The Chedi Muscat, Olga says she is committed to producing outstanding results in her field of work.


Philippe Georgiou
Chief Officer – Corporate Affairs, Oman Air

Oman Air has appointed Philippe Georgiou as chief officer – corporate affairs. The departments that he will be heading are marketing, corporate communications and media, customer relations, emergency response, government relations and legal affairs.

He will also be the official spokesperson for the airline. Georgiou has lived in the Middle East most of his life and has 30 years of experience that spans technical, operational, marketing, business development, public relations and general management. He joined Cadbury Schweppes in 1977 and, heading their operations unit, helped their expansion plans in the Near East and the Gulf. At Coca-Cola from 1990, he led the business unit that implemented the re-entry of the company in the Middle East and North Africa after an absence of 25 years. Says Georgiou, “I am very happy to be joining Oman Air, which has tremendous opportunities that can be capitalised on.”



Haitham al Fannah
Chief Operating Officer, Al Sulaimi Group

Al Sulaimi Group has announced the promotion of Haitham al Fannah as the new COO. Earlier serving the group as the general manager of Technical Trading for more than ten years, he worked tirelessly to maintain a competitive environment. “Al Fannah brings in more than a decade of experience and an intimate understanding of the local market.

We are confident he will continue to meet the needs of the group with excellence,” said a press release from the Al Sulaimi Group. Speaking about his new role, al Fannah said, “Laying out an ambitious long-term plan for the group, I look forward to utilise all my capabilities and maximising the group’s efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects.

Professionally it is the beginning of a new challenge – that of working with colleagues and exploring the multitude ways of improvising our services for our esteemed customers.”

Ramesh Verma
General Manager, Oman, Punj Lloyd Group

Punj Lloyd Group, a Fortune 500 company, has appointed Ramesh Verma to head its Oman operations as general manager. Verma has had a successful career spanning 15 years in Oman.

Before joining the Punj Lloyd Group, his last assignment was with Al Hassan Group of Companies as deputy general manager and head of group business development division as well as corporate communication division.

Headquartered in India, the Punj Lloyd Group with an annual turnover in excess of US$2.5bn, has a 15,000-strong workforce with a presence in 17 countries, executing projects in energy sector, oil, gas and petrochemicals sector, infrastructure sector, power sector and renewable energy sector amongst others. Nearly 70 per cent of the group’s turnover comes from projects overseas.  Punj Lloyd has executed two projects in Oman: one each for Petroleum Development Oman and Oman Gas Company.



Ajay Ganti

CEO, Al Seeb Technical Establishment (SARCO)

Ajay Ganti has been appointed the chief executive officer of Al Seeb Technical Establishment (SARCO). He was previously the general manager of SARCO with direct functional responsibility of the total conduct of business of the various divisions of the company. Ganti brings more than 16 years of successful experience in different aspects of business like product marketing, marketing communication, channel deployment and development, pricing, strategy formulation and new business ventures to the role.

An MBA in Marketing from Institute of Mangement Sciences & Productivity Research in Delhi, he started his career in the consumer electronics division of Vision Distribution, moved on as branch manager of Sony India and then as business head of international business at Elekta Gulf before joining SARCO as general manager in September 2006.
