In this edition we are celebrating women who have made great strides in their careers and business. These are people who earned their positions in their fields of choice and excelled amid challenges and doubts.
Take for instance, Sayyida Rawan Ahmed al Said, who is featured on our cover. She is the first Omani woman to become the CEO of a listed company and now she has also become the first Omani woman to have become the chairperson of a leading private bank in the country. These are great achievements and rightfully earned, not bestowed upon.
Our cover story features women who hold important portfolios in major banks of the country. They are stellar examples of people who grabbed the opportunities given to them and made the best of it.
We also have the women who have made Oman proud by being featured in the Forbes' Most Powerful Businesswomen in the Arab World 2017 ranking. These women have made a definitive mark in the Arab business world and continue to shine as great examples for not just women but everybody to follow.
As the country is striving to develop its non-oil economy, it has found a great partner in China. Our story on the latest developments at Duqm port looks into the investment being done by the Asian giant and how it will help the sultanate in the long run.
We also have interviews with heads of companies from diverse sectors as well as regular features like test drives and fitness tips.
