Oman Mobile has signed agreements with Renna and FriENDi Mobile for mobile reseller services using Oman Mobile’s telecommunication network
Oman Mobile has signed agreements with Renna and FriENDi Mobile for mobile reseller services using Oman Mobile's telecommunication network. With these agreements, the sultanate became the first country in the Middle East to introduce mobile resellers.
Majan Telecommunication (brand name Renna) and FriENDi, which received Class II licences from the Telecommu-nications Regulatory Authority (TRA) recently, will use the network of Oman Mobile and repackage the service with attractive features.
We will allow them to use their own brand to resell mobile services in whatever way they want to market them. The mobile service penetration level has touched 100 per cent," says Dr Amer Awad al Rawas, managing director of Oman Mobile.
The agreements will enable Renna and FRiENDi Mobile to resell mobile services to customers across the country using their own brand and their own marketing and sales channels. Under the terms of the agreements, Renna and FRiENDi Mobile will be able to develop and offer their own services and manage all aspects of relations with their customers including customer care, billing and other after sales support.
Rawas says that this step would further benefit customers by giving them more value added services and choice. These measures will significantly develop the Omani mobile market by increasing the level of mobile penetration, addressing new segments, offering more innovative services and extending the access of mobile services to the mass market."
