The best private healthcare institution is one of the six new categories included in this year's Best Brands Survey. Though government hospitals like Royal Hospital and Khoula Hospital offer comprehensive healthcare facilities, only private hospitals were brought within the purview of our survey.
Muscat Private Hospital emerged on top, which was not surprising. The only private hospital in Oman with facilities to conduct some specialised surgeries, it also has state-of-the-art scanning facilities and offers various healthcare packages, including the recently launched executive health screening facility.
Al Shatti Hospital seems to have built up such a brand equity that even after not being in operation for more than a year now, it still makes it to the Top Ten in brand recall.
The brand survey indicates that more Omanis (46.60 per cent first recall) prefer Muscat Private compared to expatriates (31.27 per cent first recall). Runner-up Badr Al Sama is more popular among expatriates (26.25 per cent first recall as compared to 24.27 per cent of Omanis).
The presence of Badr al Sama and Atlas also shows how polyclinics that branched out here from the UAE have set up a strong base over a period and have emerged strong players in the healthcare sector.
