The Information Technology Authority (ITA) in partnership with UNDESA (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs) conducted a two-day workshop on ‘Capacity Building of E-Government Services, Policies and Content’

The Information Technology Authority (ITA) in partnership with UNDESA (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs) conducted a two-day workshop on 'Capacity Building of E-Government Services, Policies and Content'. The workshop aimed to achieve the e-Government vision through collaboration among public sector entities and supporting each other in the process of transformation. The workshop sessions sought to share the UN guidelines for quality online presence in order to serve the public more efficiently and effectively.

Salim Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA said the workshop aimed to launch an integrated effort in strengthening both internal as well as external communications, improve the quality of online presence through websites and undertake knowledge management. Speaking on Oman's position, Richard Kerby, E-Government Advisor at the UNDESA said, Oman is placed in the upper 50 per cent of the UN e-Government readiness survey and has scaled faster in the last two years to reach 84th position in the e-government readiness index.""
